NAIC has developed strict standards for executive level positions in a new insurance company or for those existing companies filing expansion applications, including submitting to an extensive background investigation. NAIC requires that verification reports (a.k.a. background investigations) must be provided by a nationally recognized agency with experience performing those investigations. The agency must meet specific criteria set forth under NAIC’s Best Practices.
